Can I track warehouse locations in ConnectSx?

Last Updated: May 2024

ConnectSx requires your inventory to have a custody, and it allows you to assign geographic locations. But what if you need to know where in the warehouse your inventory is? Well we’ve got you covered.

Enter the Warehouse Location in the Catalog

Consider your Warehouse Location Tracking Scheme

What if I have multiple warehouse locations?

How to find it when you need it?

Warehouse locations are stored at the Catalog level:

  1. Navigate to the Inventory → Catalog Items section of the Console.

  2. Search for and select the catalog number you’d like to enter a location for.

  3. Enter the Warehouse Location and Save.

Consider your Warehouse Location Tracking Scheme:

You should have a logic to your warehouse location numbering scheme to keep it consistent and help your workers find the locations. Here’s a couple examples:

  • Comprehensive Scheme: Warehouse-Zone-Aisle-Section-Shelf-Bin

    • With this scheme, location 2B0306A would indicate Zone 2, Aisle B, Section 03, Shelf 06, Bin A. Alternate format 2-B-03-06-A.

  • Simplified Scheme: Aisle-Shelf-Bin

    • With this scheme, location B06A would indicate Aisle B, Shelf 06, Bin A. Alternate format B-06-A.

What if we have multiple Warehouse locations for one Catalog #?

If you have multiple warehouse locations for one catalog number you may enter them in this field, separated by a comma or semicolon.

If these different locations are also at different warehouses, consider using Custom Locations to track the geographic location and name of the warehouse and create a new nomenclature for how the warehouse location is entered in the catalog record so your workers can read it, such as:

  • WHS1: 2B0306A; WHS2: 3B1242D, WHS3: 5B0306D

How to find it when you need it?

The warehouse location will now be present on any pick list you generate from ConnectSx.
