How can I analyze my data to understand which items are high performing, so I can order more?

The ABC Inventory Classification Report categorizes your inventory using Pareto analysis to optimize stock management and purchasing decisions.

Visualize items classified as A (high value/frequency), B (medium), and C (low) based on sales value or cost of goods, with detailed metrics showing consumption percentages and total values.

Filter by event date and classification thresholds to focus resources on high-impact inventory and streamline procurement strategies.

1. Navigate to the Reports page

2. Expand the Inventory Section and click on the ABC Inventory Classification Report.

3. Key considerations with this report: 

  • Does not includes stock adjustment events (duplicate, expired)
  • Includes Facility Stock events (the original sale) but does not inlcude facility stock when it is used in an event.
  • Total Running Value is % of annual units sold + % of annual sales displayed as a running percent of total consumption value.
  • Green is A (top 80% consumption value)
  • Yellow is B (between 80%-95% consumption value)
  •  Red is C (bottom 5% of consumption value)

3. Select the Date Range to analyze in the Event Date Filter

4. If you wish, also modify the % of Sales assigned to Class A or Class B

5. Be sure to click the purple refresh button to apply your filters

6. To export, Click on the Kabob menu in the upper right corner of the report table titled, "Tile Actions", then select "Download".

Be sure not to click the kabob menu at the top of the page by mistake.

7. Then select the Advanced Settings: 

  • Results: With Visualization options applied
  • Data Values: Unformatted (no rounding, special characters, etc.)
  • Number of Rows to Include: All Results
