How can Kevin (Beacon's in-app chat helper) help me create reports and analyze my data?
Kevin is getting smarter. Now he can leverage Beacon's reporting tools to help answer your questions about your data, Try chatting with him today!
Kevin is Beacon's in-app helper who, up until now, could chat with you to help answer your questions using the wealth of information available in our Knowledge Base.
But Kevin has evolved to be able to help you learn about your data and turn your reporting wishes into reality.
Try asking Kevin a question about your data, like "How many events did each of my reps have in the last 6 months?".
Remember you're giving Kevin parameters, so try to be specific with your request in order to get the best answers. And remember that Kevin can only answer questions using the data collected and stored in your Beacon account.
A Chat will pop up and Kevin will let you know what kind of requests he can handle:
Hi, I'm Kevin! In a Data Analytics chat, I can help you explore your inventory and event data.
What I'm good at:
- 📦 Inventory (stock levels, active devices, item age, containers)
- 💰 Events & Sales (revenue, profit, commissions, case counts)
- 🔎 Filtering by rep, facility, physician, or date
Keep in mind:
- 📌 I currently only access inventory and events data
- ✅ Simple, direct questions work best
- ⚠️ I'm AI-powered and may get things wrong - double-check anything critical
- 📄 For detailed reports, use our pre-built reports
What would you like to know?
When asking Kevin a question, do your best to ask in clear language, keep the requests simple, and only ask for data that you know Kevin collects. See the prompt in the above callout for more info.
Here are some examples:
-
How much inventory is going to expire in the next 6 months and is NOT in organization custody?
-
How many events did my each of my reps have in 2022 by month?
-
What were my sales in $ during 2025?
- What were my sales in $ by rep during 2025?
- How much inventory do I have that was created earlier than 2024?

Note: If Kevin returns charts or graphs for you to view you may need to adjust the width of the column in order to view them properly.

Much Better:

Sometimes Kevin may not be able to answer your question either due to the availability of data, complexity of the request, or the phrasing of your question. If this occurs:
- Try rephrasing your question, focusing on clarity and simple phrasing
- Make sure you're asking about data that Kevin can actually report on
- Maybe your request is too complex, try breaking it down into sub-tasks to help you arrive at the same result.
