How do I use the inventory aging report?

The inventory aging report helps you manage the lifecycle of your inventory to move old or new inventory out of the warehouse

Item age in Beacon is calculated using the "Created Date" and the Inventory Aging Report will help you to keep track of inventory as it ages through its life cycle.

This report will let you filter your inventory using common data points and view how old inventory is to help you make distribution decisions.

The inventory aging report will show you how old a batch of inventory is based on its creation date and allow you to filter down to the inventory meaningful to you.

1. Navigate to the Reports page

2. Click on Inventory

3. Click on the Inventory Aging Report

4. Apply any filters for the following data points: Manufacturer, Custodian, Inventory Type, Product Line, Catalog, Lot, Expiration Date, Is Active, Is kitted, Created Date, Location, Facility, or Event Inventory Status.

5. Click the purple refresh button at the top of the screen to apply any of your filters.

Then sort using the column headings to review the inventory in question.

If you're aiming for FIFO (First in First Out), look for the oldest number of days and transfer that inventory out to the field first.

If you're aiming for LIFO (Last in First Out), look for the lowest number of days and transfer that inventory out to the field to be sold.
