What can each role do in Beacon?
Beacon has a lot to offer, but getting started it can be helpful to get an idea of what sorts of things you'll be able to do in your Beacon account. This article will detail what functionality is available to each user.
Generally you can think about user activity in the following buckets:
- Sales Users - Can do everything that involves actually selling inventory that pertains to their user account. So they can enter their cases, modify their inventory, transfer their trays, etc.
- Distributor Users - Can do everything a sales user can do, but for themselves AND their associated sales users in their distributor groups. Distributors also have access to a few other features such as user management and reporting, pertaining to their distributor group only.
- Operations Users - Can do everything. Think of these as the back-office users at the manufacturer who are in charge of all details, settings, and activity and may take action on behalf of any user.
- Regional Manager - A managerial role only, the regional manager may view sales and inventory data within their Region only.
- Facility Manager - Similar to a Sales User, but assigned to specific facilities. They may create cases and manage inventory for themselves only, and may transfer inventory to users also assigned to their facilities. For more information, check out this article.
