How do I log device movement other than transfers in vTrakr?

Updated over a week ago

While the primary way inventory moves throughout the ConnectSx system is inventory requests and transfers from custodian account to custodian account, there are ways to track what is going on with inventory beyond who its custodian is.

Update things such as where the inventory is at in the sterilization process before a case or the inventory’s delivery status that provide more information than just who has custody of it.

There are two ways to do this:

Scan Barcode

For inventory that has a barcode stored in ConnectSx, you can use the Scan Barcode workflow.

Note: A useful aspect of this feature is that the barcode can be scanned by anyone with the Beacon Mobile app to log device movement, including Provider staff!

  1. First, click on the “Scan Barcode” button on the Dashboard

  2. Scan your barcode and click on the resulting item.

  3. Next, Click on “Log Device Movement”.

  4. You can see that you have a number of options:

    1. Delivery

      1. Device(s) are ready for pickup

      2. Device(s) has been picked up

      3. Device(s) has been delivered

      4. Device(s) has been received

    2. Sterile Processing

      1. Received by SPD Pre-Case

      2. Sterilization Complete Pre-Case

      3. Received by SPD Post-Case

      4. Cleaning Complete, Ready for Pick-Up

    3. Record Device Location

      1. Select Location from Google

      2. Select Status

    4. Shipping

      1. Device prepared for shipment

      2. Device(s) ready for pickup

      3. Device has been shipped

But, what if your inventory doesn’t have a Barcode?

Use the Log Device Movement option.

  1. First, locate your device in your inventory.

  2. Click on it to open up its device detail screen

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the “Log Device Movement/Get Help” button.

  4. This will pull up the menu where you can click “Log Device Movement” and enter the same information we reviewed in the section above.
