Overview
In ConnectSx Beacon, requesting a complete set or product line traditionally allows field users to select whether they need "Implants Only," "Instruments Only," or the entire set. However, for product lines that consist solely of single-use packs, sterile disposables, or unified tray configurations, splitting items into implants and instruments is unnecessary and can cause confusion during request workflows.
We've added the ability for Organization Admins and Operations users to hide the Implants/Instruments selection section on a per-product-line basis. When hidden, the system removes these sub-filters during inventory requests, streamlining the requisition workflow for field personnel.
How to Hide the Implants/Instruments Section
To configure this setting for an existing or new product line, follow these steps in the Beacon Console:
Navigate to Product Lines: Open the left-hand navigation menu in the Beacon Console and select Inventory > Product Lines.
Select the Product Line: Locate the product line you want to update from the list and click on it to open the detail view.
Locate Display Settings: Scroll to the product line configuration section and find the Hide Implants/Instruments Options toggle switch.
Enable the Setting: Toggle the switch to ON (enabled) to hide the implants and instruments breakdown for this product line.
Save Changes: Click Save at the top or bottom of the page to apply your update.
Verification: To confirm the change was applied correctly, navigate to Movements > Requests, initiate a new request, select Complete Sets, and filter by the modified product line. The options to toggle between "Implants Only" and "Instruments Only" will no longer appear.
How This Impacts Field Workflows
Once the Implants/Instruments section is hidden for a product line:
Inventory Requests: Sales reps and distributors requesting complete sets for this product line will automatically request the full product line without seeing extra selection prompts.
Preference Cards: When building or applying surgeon preference cards tied to this product line, the system defaults to the entire product line structure.
Fulfillment: Fulfillment teams receive clean, unambiguous requests for the complete product line, reducing back-and-forth communication regarding missing caddies or trays.
