Update:
We've added a *New* visual "Missing Assignments" alert tag to clearly call out physician profiles lacking assigned users or medical facilities.
To maintain data integrity, Beacon enforces unique NPI numbers per organization. If you attempt to create or edit a physician using an NPI already in your directory, the system will prompt you to review existing records to prevent duplicates.
To create a physician in Beacon, navigate to the Directory section and select the Physicians Page. Next, follow these steps to set up your physician:
First, click the +New Physician button in the upper right corner
Enter the NPI number or use the NPI to search for the Physician using the database.
Enter the name of your physician.
If applicable, enter any search tags you'd like to assign to this physician. These tags will be able to be used to recall this physician in a search.
Enter the contact information for your physician.
If you'd like to track any associations between this Physician and other directory records, create as many of those as you'd like here.
Click Create!
Be sure to assign your new physician to any users who may do business with them.
