How do I create an Event with no commissions?

Understanding Non-Commissionable Events

This feature allows users to mark specific events—such as those involving product samples, demonstrations, or warranty replacements—as non-commissionable. By designating these events early, organizations can ensure that only revenue-generating activities are included in sales performance calculations and commission reporting.

What it Means for You

  • Improved Reporting Accuracy: Exclude non-revenue events like demos or samples from your sales targets and performance metrics.

  • Simplified Financial Workflows: Clearly distinguish between events that require commission payouts and those that do not.

  • Automated Status Updates: Marking an event as non-commissionable automatically updates the commission status and adjusts the requirements for locking the event.

Using Non-Commissionable Events in Your Workflow

Events

Users can now locate a No commission checkbox within the event detail header, positioned next to the standard commission payment options. This setting is mutually exclusive with the "Commission paid" status; if one is selected, the other is automatically disabled to prevent data conflicts.

Admin Only: Locking and Payments

When an event is marked as No commission, the final confirmation dialog is updated to reflect that only the Invoice and Sales Order statuses will be processed upon locking. Once an event is locked, the commission designation cannot be changed unless the event is reopened.

How to use Non-Commissionable Events

  1. Open the Event Detail page for the specific case, demo, or sample event.

  2. In the header section, locate the No commission checkbox.

  3. Select the checkbox to designate the event as non-commissionable.

  4. Note that the Commission paid checkbox will now be disabled.

  5. Proceed with your standard event workflow; the system will automatically exclude this event's totals from Sales Targets & Performance calculations on your dashboard.

  6. If you need to change this designation later, ensure the event is reopened to make the checkbox editable again.
