You can now specify exactly how your inventory should be shipped by selecting a Preferred Carrier and Preferred Method directly within the Ship-To sections of Requests, Transfers, and public request pages. Matching the options already available in the Event Ship tab, this update replaces the legacy Shipping Type field to ensure fulfillment teams know exactly how to route your packages.
Setting the Carrier and Method
Locate the Preferred Carrier and Preferred Method fields positioned directly below the address block in the ship-to section.
Select your Preferred Carrier from the dropdown menu.
The Preferred Method dropdown will unlock, displaying only the shipping methods corresponding to your selected carrier.
If you change the carrier, the method field will automatically clear so you can select a valid option.
Note: Using the "Autofill from" option for a facility address will not overwrite or change your manually selected carrier and method. Both shipping fields are optional and can be left blank.
Flow from Request to Fulfillment
Automated Transfer Creation: When an inventory request is fulfilled, the resulting transfer automatically inherits the Preferred Carrier and Preferred Method from the original request.
Partial Fulfillments: If a request requires multiple partial fulfillments, every new transfer generated from that request will copy the current shipping preferences.
Independent Records: Changing the carrier or method on a transfer will not alter the original request, and changing the request will not alter an already-generated transfer.
Visibility and Notifications
Packing Slips: The selected carrier and method are automatically appended to the generated transfer packing slip document.
Email Notifications: The "Transfer Created" email notification now displays the carrier and method to the recipient. If left blank, this line is omitted from the email entirely.
Tracking Info: The standalone "Carrier" field within the post-shipment Tracking Info section remains distinct and unchanged.
