How can I remove reusable inventory from my account (Deactivate reusable inventory)?

Reusable inventory is inventory that is marked NOT SINGLE USE. What this means is that when a reusable item is used in an Event it gets added back into inventory, rather than being consumed when the Event is closed (regardless of whether it was billed).

Once inventory is set as reusable and saved, it cannot be changed back to single-use. So you may be wondering, how do I remove reusable inventory?

Remove using inventory statuses in an Event as normal

You may remove inventory in an Event by marking the item status as damaged or missing, if that is the appropriate context.

  1. Create the event and mark the inventory as used as you normally would.

  2. Then navigate to the Devices Used tab and locate the reusable item that is missing or damaged and must be removed.

  3. Click on the pencil icon next to that item to edit its status

  4. Select the appropriate item status. Missing and Damaged items will be deactivated when the event is submitted, even if the item is reusable.

  5. Save.

  6. When you submit the event for billing you will be asked to make notes about these items and add context to why they were marked damaged or missing.

Remove Inventory by Stock Adjustment

If the inventory must be removed, but not within the context of a specific event, such as a missing or damaged item in a case, you may use the Stock Adjustment event type.

Using this event type allows you to remove the inventory, while creating an enduring record of the inventory’s removal with relevant context in the comments and event description.

  1. Create a Stock Adjustment

  2. Add the reusable inventory to the stock adjustment by marking them as used.

  3. Add any comments needed to provide appropriate context of the inventory removal.

  4. Submit the Event to complete the Stock Adjustment
